3RD EYE (by Sharky)

As mzansi was all in about how different peeps were dressed which is what shifts the attention from music at awards events, on my debut I chose to pin point the topic that has been a dominant figure……”Are these awards voting system a true reflection of the art or is the Art somehow compromised?”
As I watched in all social media platforms, debates about who deserved to win and who didn’t I realized that the Metro FM Awards unlike the SAMAS (South African Music Awards) of previous, gives the consumers, listeners the power at the fingertips to choose, vote and make decisions on their favourite artist. At the end of the day the arguments on social media were such a far cry from the artists that now in their trophy cabinet they wake up to the sight of a Metro FM award.
So back to the major debate of the award events, do the winners sometimes deserve the scalps and wins they get?
KEY DEBATES OF THE METRO FM AWARD CEREMONY:
         1         .    EMTEE
         2         .    FIFI COOPER
EMTEE: This lad has taken the SA music by storm over the past few months and changed the concepts of mainstream Hip Hop and took it back to the streets and hoods just like KO did last year. He had a stellar year for a newcomer to the game. He bagged 4 awards on the night and ofcoz there were debates on his accolades he scooped like Hip Hop one. Cassper & AKA as you know dominate this category and this lad caused an upset on the two goons which sparked an outcry from both rivals fans, lol some said Cassper should have won coz he made a platinum selling album, AKA fans then went on to say their idol’s album was musically superior to Emtee’s. But the fact still remains that the young lad’s fans voted and that counts, case closed.
FIFI COOPER: Hmmm this one was interesting to say the least. Whether this argument can be justified, well you be the judge lol. Okay Fifi Cooper, the young Motswako female rapper caused the biggest upset of the night when she beat other females for the Best Female category!!! This young lady beat the likes of double platinum selling artist, Zahara…. Which goes to show that awards ceremony are very complex especially when involving the fans in a voting system. But then there are winners and losers, and debates and disputes! So the debate between quality of music being chosen over the quantity of fans will go on for days. You guys will decide.

CHEERS [by THE SPINNED UP JUNKIES]

There are many misconceptions when coming to drinking beverages, especially alcohol. So as professional bartenders for a professional cocktail and bar services company we’ll be taking this platform to be giving tips on some stuff you might not have being aware of.
For e.g. We take it that most people are  aware by now that cocktails have an exotics, sensual, seductive names to them, if not, I guess the lagers and ciders have been busy growing the belly you now despise. Take names like ‘Sex on the beach” (for a number of people ordering this drink think they’ll wake up in some exotic island having sex with their secret admirer). Or how about “Screaming orgasm” (for most ladies think they’ll eventually reach an orgasm screaming, which they have been faking to their partners for some time). For both of this we wish it could be possible but we only do the magic preparing the drinks.
And the myth that cocktails are meant only for ladies, or (guys who swing in the same direction as they are, if you know what we mean lol). Cocktails do have different taste and characteristics to them. You find some sweet, bitter, harsh, mellow and so forth. But as said in the beginning this is where we’ll be providing you with the know-how of what, which, how and where of beverages (both alcoholic and none).
